A little routine care prevents most warranty claims (scale damage isn't covered!):
Daily: flush the group head after the last shot, wipe the steam wand immediately after use, purge steam for 2 seconds. Weekly: scrub the shower screen, soak the portafilter and baskets in espresso detergent, backflush if your machine has a 3-way valve. Monthly: descale — especially important with Indian tap water. Use a citric-acid descaler, never vinegar.
Using an RO or filtered water source dramatically extends boiler life.
